Lauren Bocka

Holistic medicine and natural modalities of healing have always been something Lauren has been passionate about. Working as a registered nurse and registered yoga teacher, she strives to incorporate these interests into her work as a healer. To Lauren, yoga is a means to find presence and connectedness to both oneself and others.
In her current practice, Lauren enjoys teaching yin, mediation, and more gentle forms of yoga, weaving in yogic philosophy and anatomy into her classes. Her goal is to leave students with a sense of peace and feeling a little closer to themselves.
Outside of the studio, you can find Lauren buying cosmetically-challenged vegetables from the farmer's market, reading three books at a time very slowly, or supporting the robust local businesses in Rochester. And, she is on an endless quest to find the perfect Caesar salad.

Hello! My name is Betsy Woldeyohannes (they/them). I am a 200 RYT (trained at Breathe Yoga with primary training in Vinyasa), a certified Yoga of 12-Step Recovery Peer Support Guide (trained with Nikki Myers), and am currently undergoing training with Judith Lasater to become a Relax and Renew® Level 1 Certified Yoga Teacher. I have been an educator for almost 10 years and hold master’s degrees in English and Classics, but I decided to leave traditional academia and my doctoral program behind in order to teach in a more holistic and socially relevant way through yoga. Despite this, my yoga teaching and practice are deeply informed by my study of ancient language, literature, and history; my practices at Frequency will therefore include the conscious integration of principles drawn from yogic philosophy and vedanta. My classes will be based in a mindful Vinyasa style, interweaving slower breaths and longer holds, yin postures, and/or sequences inspired by the Hatha yoga of Y12SR, and will conclude with a meditation practice. I will primarily use verbal uses with some demonstration.
